As the title suggests, does humidity need to be taken into account when using a vortex flow meter to measure gas flow rate? Currently, I have one air compressor for which flow rate is being measured at the outlet. Since the air humidity is relatively high after it exits the compressor, I’m using a vortex flow meter to take measurements. I wonder whether water vapor will affect the accuracy of these measurements, as they are related to the compressor’s gas production volume, and ultimately impact the acceptance process of the compressor. Currently, the flow meter measures the value at 0 degrees Celsius and standard pressure; ultimately, it is necessary to convert this value to the flow rate under conditions of 35 degrees Celsius, 80% humidity, and 0.1013 MPa. How should humidity be calculated for this conversion? I’m seeking help from all the experts here

If the air contains water, it will affect the measurements, as the density of the air changes. Therefore, vortex street sensors require temperature and pressure compensation, with humidity being ignored. Standard conditions and operating conditions can be converted and set; modern smart meters are capable of performing automatic conversion.
Both temperature and pressure compensation are available. The value measured now is the volumetric flow rate under standard conditions; density should not be an issue. I was just wondering whether saturated water vapor could affect the volumetric flow rate measured by the vortex flow meter
There will be an impact, especially when there is a lot of water present, as this often leads to overestimated readings or even makes measurement impossible.
If the measured flow rate is a mass flow rate, the moisture content must be deducted from it. Of course, with a rough measurement, it’s not necessary to be so precise. Moreover, vortex flow meters are designed to measure volumetric flow rate, and water vapor consists of molecules as well; it is unreasonable to make adjustments for this purpose during verification.
The technical agreement stipulates the volumetric flow rate, and this volume refers to air with a relative humidity of 80%. What I don’t understand now is whether the water molecules are included in the humid air as detected by my vortex flow meter And how exactly should it be converted to the air intake volume in the end?
