I have five operating conditions here; is any of them suitable for a Coriolis mass flow meter? ① Natural gas, 0~171 Nm3/H, 10 KPa, DN65; ②Natural gas, 0~142 Nm3/h, 10 KPa, DN20 ; ③Natural gas, 230~450KPa.g, minimum flow rate 28.6Nm^3/h, maximum flow rate 857Nm^3/h, normal flow rate 429Nm^3/h, DN65 ; ④Natural gas, 230~450KPa.g, minimum flow rate 28.6Nm^3/h, maximum flow rate 71.4Nm^3/h, normal flow rate 35Nm^3/h, DN20 ; ⑤For hydrogen, with a medium pressure of 230~450 KPa.g and a normal flow rate of 40 Nm^3/h at DN15, what level of precision can be achieved? If a coriolis meter is not suitable, what precision can be attained using a thermal meter? The client requires a mass flow meter
All of the above operating conditions can be handled with mass flow meters; Emerson ELITE models can achieve an accuracy of over 0.1% (commercial grade). GE’s dedicated natural gas metering-grade ultrasonic flowmeters can also be used; they achieve a metering-level accuracy as well, and their pressure loss is likely to be slightly better than that of mass flowmeters.
Another factor to consider is that, due to measurement accuracy, it may be necessary to reduce the diameter. It is necessary for the manufacturer’s technical experts to calculate whether there is a suitable flow meter available after the diameter reduction, and whether the pressure loss resulting from this reduction meets the requirements of the operating conditions. It’s even possible that you can’t have both!
Thermal mass flow meters are highly affected by temperature and pressure; in my opinion, Coriolis mass flow meters are better
The temperature is at room temperature with little fluctuation, and the pressure is the pressure after the self-acting pressure regulator, which is also stable.
