Has anyone used an emergency shut-off valve with two solenoid valves? DCS controls one, SIS controls one
It is recommended to reflect all the issues, without asking who has used them. Who has used it? It has several meanings: showing off, asking questions, inquiring about usage patterns,...;P
To reduce costs, this is used in practice.

This is quite normal – two solenoids are connected in series; the issue lies in whether they are normally open or normally closed. Under normal conditions, the DCS takes control, but in an emergency shutdown scenario, it is the solenoids of the SIS that come into action

DCS controls the solenoid valves that are used in normal operations, while SIS controls the interlock solenoid valves. An SIS interlock is triggered in case of an emergency in the process or system. This prevents the leakage of flammable, toxic, harmful gases, liquids, and other substances, thereby ensuring personal safety.
