For measuring the liquid level in liquid chlorine storage tanks, radar level gauges are used; over time, the readings of these gauges become inaccurate (compared to the local level gauges on site). After recalibration, they function properly. Are there any other methods or approaches for measurement?
A corrosion-resistant magnetostrictive level gauge is used; both the measuring rod and the float are made of 316 + PTFE. It provides a 4-20mA output, with either on-site display or RS485 connectivity available.
It’s a good approach; the temperature of liquid chlorine is relatively low. Can polytetrafluoroethylene material be used over the long term?
PTFE material can be used for a long time; the PTFE we use can withstand temperatures as low as -200°C. The waveguide wire in magnetostrictive level gauges can withstand temperatures of -40°C, and the lowest temperature of liquid chlorine is not lower than -40°C; therefore, magnetostrictive level gauges can operate properly.

There shouldn’t be any major problems with liquid ammonia radar measurements; please check the radar configuration carefully
Dual flanges are a better choice; the radar serves as a supplementary element. If only one is to be installed, dual flanges should be given priority. Given the relatively high liquid level range, magnetostrictive and radio frequency admittance measurement rods should not be too long; it is better to use several of them instead.
Checked the configuration settings; no issues found
There’s a chance to give double flanges a try and see how it goes :)
