Dear teachers, I currently have an electromagnetic flowmeter with a diameter of 80, and the electrode material is HB. Vertical pipe installation; the entire pipeline is made of PVC, and the electromagnetic flowmeter is equipped with a grounding ring directly connected to the pipeline. The medium used for testing was landfill leachate, which has good electrical conductivity and a pH value of around 6. When the flow meter first arrived, it was tested with clean water, and the measurement was accurate (compared with those taken by E+H). Installed in PVC pipes to measure leachate, and the readings remain fluctuating. It sometimes fluctuates from 10 m³ to 60 m³ (the normal flow rate is around 30 m³). The inspection is almost complete now, but the problem still hasn’t been found. Has any teacher encountered a similar situation? I would appreciate your advice
Ensure proper grounding; try adding a conductive ring
Consider oil; when it adheres to the electrodes, it affects conductivity. You’ll know if you take it off and check
Is the entire pipeline made of PVC, and is there a grounding ring directly connected to the electromagnetic flowmeter and the pipeline? Connecting it to a PVC pipe – what kind of grounding is this? It needs to be attached to a metal object. The fluctuations occur right after it’s installed; it’s not due to dirty electrodes, but possibly because the medium contains too many bubbles.
