Emerson has announced the introduction of the Fisher™ GX bolted valve cover direct-acting control valves and actuator systems, designed specifically to control the flow of critical process fluids in downstream oil and gas, chemical, and petrochemical industry applications. When servicing or replacing the actuator, the interior of the valve or the process medium is not exposed to the atmosphere, thereby improving safety and reducing downtime.
The design of the standard valve cover allows the bolts used to secure the actuator to also fix the valve cover to the top of the valve. Therefore, it is impossible to replace or repair the actuator without removing the valve cover and exposing the interior of the valve. Therefore, it is difficult to repair actuators in critical fluid applications.
The Fisher™ GX bolted bonnet control valve uses a separate high-strength locknut to secure the actuator yoke to the bonnet, thereby addressing these challenges associated with critical fluid applications. In this way, maintenance technicians can easily disassemble and service the actuator while keeping the valve cover in place.
This valve is equipped with a pneumatic actuator as standard, but it is also compatible with electric actuators. It can be used with electric actuators from many different suppliers, thereby flexibly meeting the requirements of such actuators.
The Fisher™ GX bolted valve cover control valve expands the existing GX product line, continuing to offer simple size selection through automatic actuator selection and easy configuration. Its compact size also simplifies installation in areas with limited space.
The latest Fisher GX valves feature a design that facilitates access to the actuator, allowing for easy maintenance or replacement without the need to remove the valve cover.
