How can one distinguish between the positive and negative values of the coefficients of the controlled object? In the case of a liquid level control system, it is the control valve in the tank outlet pipeline. As the liquid level rises, the valve opening needs to increase; is the gain coefficient of the controlled system positive or negative?
For a specific control system, such as a level control system, if the amount of material controlled by the control valve (the input to the controlled process) increases, then the level (the output of the controlled process) also increases; this indicates that the amplification factor of the controlled process is positive； If the amount of material controlled by the control valve (the input to the controlled object) increases, the liquid level (the output of the controlled object) decreases as well; this indicates that the amplification factor of the controlled object is negative ；
