Which instruments need insulation and which need heating?
With a liquid medium, insulation is necessary for components equipped with heating elements, as these components will be damaged by freezing at natural ambient temperatures; however, having insulation does not necessarily mean that heating elements are present
When the temperature is below zero degrees, heating must be provided to prevent freezing; similarly, heating is also necessary when the medium being measured is in gaseous form (such as in gas chromatography)
