Usage characteristics of rotameters (1) Chengfeng Flow Meters believes that glass tube rotameters are directly-reading instruments, with the conical tube scale featuring both flow rate markings and percentage markings. Flow meters equipped with a flow scale can effectively read the value of the flow rate; for glass tube rotameters with subdivisions on the scale, special attention must be paid to the conversion between the scale markings and the flow rate. (2) Compared with split-type electromagnetic flowmeters, whether using electrical or pneumatic transmission, during normal operation only the zero level of the converter’s output can be adjusted; no other adjustments are generally made. (3) When the flow meter is in operation, the door behind it should not be opened too quickly, otherwise excessive fluid flow may damage some components. For those equipped with a bypass, the bypass valve should be opened first, then the instrument should be activated; after the instrument is in operation, the bypass valve should be closed. (4) Flush regularly according to the degree of contamination of the fluid being measured to ensure accuracy. For gas remote transmission instruments, it is also necessary to regularly clean the constant-throttling orifice and filter. When the transmitter must be disassembled for cleaning, care should be taken not to bend the guide rod, so as to prevent the rotor from getting stuck and causing the instrument to fail. (5) When moving a large-diameter glass rotameter, the rotor should be supported first to prevent it from damaging the cone tube due to impact.
