Is the DDZ-Ⅲ still in use today? Why is it highlighted in the book?

I recently read a book on instruments, and it covered DDZ-type instruments as well. Are such electric combined instrument units still in use these days? Which instruments belong to this type? Or has the content of current textbooks become outdated in many aspects?
The DDZ-Ⅲ type instruments transmit signals in the 4~20mA range; these are the instruments that are used nowadays, although it’s possible that they aren’t called by that name anymore.
