Selection of compensation wires for Type B thermocouples

Dear experts, we have several Type B thermocouples at the construction site that require wiring. There is some KYJVP2*1 cable available on site, and I was wondering if this type of cable can be used as a compensation wire for Type B thermocouples? Thank you all.

A regular control cable will do; it’s best to use a shielded cable to prevent interference

It generally won’t work. For temporary use; the user must be provided with manual correction values. For long-term use, temperature variation can be installed on-site.

Signal interference needs to be taken into account; it is best to use shielded cables, and KYJVP2*1 is a shielded type

If accuracy isn’t a concern, it’s fine; a safety barrier can be added on-site to avoid this issue: lol

The compensation wire for thermocouples is a specialized cable.

For thermocouple connections, a compensation wire is required; the thermoelectric properties of this compensation wire are essentially the same as those of the thermocouple at ambient temperatures (usually within the range of 0–50°C), and this needs to be verified. Additionally, if the cold junction temperature of the thermocouple is the same as the temperature in the control room (at the instrument connection point), a regular shielded cable will suffice.

The thermoelectric potential of type B thermocouples is extremely low at room temperature, at 60 degrees it is only 6 microvolts. If the cold junction temperature of the thermocouple remains below 60 degrees for an extended period, the effect of using copper wire is negligible.

There’s no dedicated compensation wire for type B, right?
