I would like to ask how surface temperature measurement of the converter tube can be achieved. A furnace section is currently equipped with a portable infrared thermometer. However, two additional surface thermocouples have been installed on the Topsoo PID; yet the heat exchange tubes are located inside the furnace. How should this temperature be set?
1. Infrared temperature measurement is subject to many interfering factors, which may result in inaccurate readings. 2. Infrared is difficult to convert into a standard signal over long distances. 3. Given such a setup, there should be corresponding instructions and parameters in the process. 4. Having more measurement and monitoring points also ensures safety and reliability. Temperature measurements using thermoresistors and similar devices are the cheapest types of instruments.
Now, infrared internal temperature sensing probes have been installed in all conversion furnaces, enabling real-time, full-field monitoring of the temperature of the furnace tubes. Alerts are issued promptly when any area of the furnace tubes exceeds the designated temperature limit. The performance of these devices is excellent, and they are very convenient to use. The flexible thermocouples we use for temperature measurement in our furnace tubes are up to 14 meters long in the longest ones. The thermocouple probe is welded to the furnace tube, equipped with a protective cover, while the wiring terminals are located outside the furnace.
