Chemical plants are usually explosion-proof environments, but the PLC control cabinets used in these systems are located on site and are equipped with touch screens so that operators can switch between different screens to view parameters and receive alarm alerts. However, due to explosion-proof requirements, in some cases the touch screens are housed in flameproof cabinets and cannot be exposed or operated; they can only be viewed. In other cases, positive-pressure explosion protection is used, with the touch screen covered by a small glass panel that must be opened in order to operate it. Does it meet the specification requirements? Are there intrinsically safe explosion-proof touchscreens?
