Differences between Hart7, Hart6, and Hart5

I’d like to ask everyone, what are the differences between Hart versions 5, 6, and 7? Can a higher version be compatible with a lower version? There is one more basic concept I would like you to help me clarify: Is the Hart version intended for transmitters? Is it still for the handheld controller? Still for DD files? Thank you all!
HART is designed for transmitters; by joining the HART organization, one can add their own configuration files to the official DD files. These configuration files can then be downloaded to the handheld device, allowing for settings to be made in accordance with the specifications. Higher versions of HART are certainly backward compatible with lower versions; for example, HART7 is compatible with HART5. HART6 seems to not exist.
It is backward compatible, mainly in terms of the transmitter’s software functions; it also relates to the system – if the instrument uses Hart7, then the system must support Hart7 as well.
