The connection sizes for ultrasonic level gauges range from 50 to 300 in terms of flange connections; does this connection size have an impact on the measurement performed by the gauge itself? Does the selection still depend only on the pipe ports of the equipment to be installed?
In ultrasonic measurement, the emission angle is a key factor to consider; the installation location is crucial. The choice of flange has no impact on the ultrasonic waves themselves – it can be regarded as a swivel flange.
The device port should be no smaller than the level gauge port, to ensure that the level gauge probe extends into the tank rather than inside a pipe; at the same time, care should be taken to keep an appropriate distance between the level gauge and the device wall, in accordance with the installation distances specified in the manual.
