Hello everyone, I have a question to ask. The floating ball valve has seasonal leakage. The leakage point is at the valve stem. Now the packing needs to be replaced, but the pressure plate cannot be opened no matter what method is used. Has this happened to anyone? How did you solve it? The medium is natural gas

The gland cannot be opened. Could it be that it is rusty? The valve is still online after being removed.
If the pressure is high, the load needs to be removed before maintenance can be performed. Remove the control mechanism (handwheel), loosen the bolts of the packing gland, and take it out. The filler inside is probably graphite material, just keep filling it up. General leaks can be solved by slightly tightening the gland bolts, and no maintenance is required. Unless the gland is tightened to the end, the above-mentioned additional packing must be performed for reference.

Now the gland cannot be opened at all and the graphite packing cannot be removed.
The ball valve is installed outdoors. Because the temperature difference throughout the year is too large, below zero in winter and under direct sunlight in summer, the temperature of the valve cover can even reach 100+ degrees Celsius. Therefore, the packing position begins to leak in winter. Furthermore, it is exposed to wind and rain outdoors for a whole year, and the entire valve cover pressure bolts are all rusted and cannot be disassembled.
It may be rusty and stuck, but the packing is easy to remove. Deformed?
Take a film and upload it. Just use prying force on the packing gland. If all the graphite packing inside needs to be cleaned, just make a chisel-type tool and directly break it hard to remove it.
