It’s the same system: the vacuum gauge reads -72 KPA, while the gauge for absolute pressure reads 7.2 KPA (which is equivalent to -94.1 KPA). The reading on the vacuum gauge matches that of the remote pressure transmitter installed on the system, and the two newly purchased gauge for absolute pressure also show the same value. I’m not sure what’s going on; please help me figure out how to convert the readings between the vacuum gauge and the gauge for absolute pressure. Thank you all!
Ask the gauge manufacturer – the unit on the gauge is incorrect; it should be Kpa(A)
This post was last edited by xxkhc on 2022-11-14 at 22:57. Based on the photos, the absolute pressure is 5.7 KPa and the negative pressure is 74 KPa; if the atmospheric pressure in your area is around 797 mbar, then the readings on the gauge are correct.
The atmospheric pressure here is around 94 kPa, so the calculations don’t match
Check whether the installed gauge pressure meter has poor sealing and is leaking

If both gauges are located at the top of the same container, the absence of any structures within the container prevents pressure differences at the measurement points; the pressure transfer tubes are unobstructed and the seals are reliable. To explain this issue: 1. Calibrate the instrument’s zero point and range; 2. Take into account the instrument’s accuracy. By considering these points, the issue can be easily explained.
