When the flange is under pressure, excessive deflection can occur between adjacent bolts on the flange ring, leading to medium leakage. Therefore, elastic gaskets should be used for fiberglass flanges, as gaskets with good elasticity can tolerate minor irregularities. For fiberglass flanges, EPDM and neoprene gaskets are good choices; wrapping a PTFE tape around the rubber gasket extends its service life. .
