I am seeking advice from experienced professionals and senior engineers regarding the selection of three-way diverter valves. Since the valves currently in use are quite old, I plan to upgrade them with new ones during maintenance. This is my first time dealing with such a selection process, and I’m quite confused. I hope those with more experience can help me understand what parameters need to be considered and what precautions should be taken. It’s best to send an existing image along with the specified processing conditions, so it will be easier to discuss. The specific procedures should be outlined in a report to the Equipment Department, which will take charge of organizing and implementing them. For reference.
First, look for the original design documents and the original valve technical specifications. It would be easier if that were the case; we could look for manufacturers, and each manufacturer has different information on three-way valves. If not, take photos on site and ask about the process parameters and flow direction of the valves in the process unit. This includes the initial position of the valve; you can consult the manufacturer for details.
There are various options for three-way flow division, including globe three-way valves, ball three-way valves, and plug-type three-way valves. The process data is not very complete; generally, there is a three-way valve for adjustment, and GLOBE valves are used for this purpose.
