In an interlock logic diagram, can the same valve appear multiple times? For example, close valve A when the temperature is high, and also close valve A when the pressure is high – can this be represented with two separate logic rules? That is, draw a line for the temperature interlock A valve, and also draw a line for the pressure interlock A valve; it should not be shown as ‘high temperature or high pressure’, followed by an interlock A valve. I’d appreciate everyone’s opinions on this
The same valve can appear multiple times in the interlock logic diagram. According to actual requirements, the high temperature shutdown of valve A and the high pressure shutdown of valve A can be represented as two separate logic circuits, in order to illustrate the interlock control under different conditions. This helps to clearly represent different control conditions and logical relationships. .
For the same output, it’s necessary to specify the input conditions clearly; the two input conditions must have their priorities or relationships indicated. There’s no need to use ‘or’ or ‘and’ to express this, as that makes it unclear how one should proceed – the logic doesn’t make sense at all. On the other hand, even if this problem does not exist, drawing them separately can still lead to omissions or repetitions, and errors will be detected once the actual configuration is checked.

However, it is not convenient to read the diagrams; and after some time passes or when someone else takes over, if only one logic diagram is visible and it is assumed that there is only one, this could turn out to be a problem.
