User Guide for Hart to Modbus Protocol Converter 1.1 Product Introduction The SM101 series of HART intelligent converters are products developed using ARM microprocessors, specialized chips for HART protocol modulation/demodulation, as well as extensive practical experience. It is designed in accordance with the requirements for industrial products, offering high reliability and stability. The intelligent converter is equipped with standard RS232 and RS485 interfaces, enabling transparent data transmission with smart instruments that use the HART protocol, or converting the data to MODBUS_RTU format for reading, thus ensuring real-time data transmission. The HART protocol uses the Bell202 Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) standard, superimposing a modulated digital signal on the 4–20mA signal; this enables HART-enabled instruments to facilitate two-way data communication without interfering with the 4–20mA analog signal. The SM101 series of smart converters are intelligent converters that perform bidirectional modulation and demodulation between digital signals and analog signals. 1.2 Product Features ● Equipped with standard RS232 and RS485 communication interfaces, allowing for parameter configuration, adjustment of the communication baud rate, and setting of parity bits.
