On October 18, Shanxi Province **signed a framework agreement with the Chinese Academy of Engineering to jointly establish the Shanxi Research Institute for the Development Strategy of Engineering Science and Technology in China. At the same time, the first batch of 10 major strategic consultation projects in Shanxi Province was officially launched. 　 Huang Qingxue, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Taiyuan University of Technology, was elected as the director of the Shanxi Institute for the Development Strategy of Engineering Science and Technology in China. 18 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and 9 senior experts from Shanxi Province were appointed as members of the academic committee. 　 The top ten strategic consulting topics include research on the development strategy for the intelligent equipment industry in Shanxi Province, research on the strategies for local production of materials in Shanxi and their future prospects, research on strategies for ecological environment protection, governance, and pollution control in Shanxi, as well as research on the strategies for the transformation and upgrading of coal mining enterprises in Shanxi and the development of intelligent mining methods.
