Preheating temperature of return gas

Coke oven gas is used for heating, and it needs to be preheated before being fed into the furnace. Most textbooks state that the temperature after preheating is 45–50°C. Is there any reason or basis for this?
The books state that it should be 45–50°C, but the manager insists on keeping it at 50±5°C. What are the benefits of a 5°C increase?
