In our plant, the distance from the outlet of the tar tubular furnace used for tar processing to the distillation tower is nearly 180 meters. Due to this long distance, slag formation often occurs in the tubular furnace. After analysis, we now adopt the approach of shutting down the furnace periodically for cleaning. Is it possible to install a pipeline pump at the outlet of the tubular furnace’s pipeline to address the issue of pipe blockages? Is this a viable solution?

Even if you add a pump, won’t these impurities or coke be carried into the tower? First, you need to figure out whether these impurities are caused by high furnace temperatures or by an excessive amount of impurities already present. Only by identifying the cause can appropriate measures be taken!

Based on the clues you provided, it is caused by impurity deposition due to an overly long process and slow flow rate! However, impurities must be filtered out before they enter the tower; otherwise, they will still be carried into the tower and cause fluctuations in its operation!
Yes, in our current production process, the pipes are heated once a month and replaced every three months to prevent blockages and slag formation in the tubular furnace tubes.
You’re using the old manufacturing process here; we used to burn tubes as well, but we changed the process later, and now the tubes don’t get clogged anymore
