Recently, the plan adjustment scheme for the Tongda Modern Coal Chemical Industry Park in Wuzhong City, Ningxia Autonomous Region (a project for producing 100,000 tons of LNG through the methanation of coke oven gas, along with related facilities, and a project for upgrading technologies to produce 200,000 tons per year of stable light hydrocarbons from coke) was announced. The Wuzhong Tongda Modern Coal Chemical Industry Park (projects for the production of 100,000 tons per year of LNG through the methanation of coke oven gas, as well as related facilities; and a technical upgrade project for the production of 200,000 tons per year of light hydrocarbons from coke) is located on the north side of Luoshan Avenue and the east side of Qing’an Avenue in the Taishan Development Zone. It was built by Wuzhong Tongda Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. In 2015, after receiving approval for its project to produce 200,000 tons per year of stable light hydrocarbons from coke (a project aimed at transformation and upgrading), the company obtained the Construction Land Planning Permit and the Construction Project Planning Permit. It also had its planning proposal approved by the former Wuzhong Municipal Planning and Urban Management Bureau, following which construction commenced. Currently, due to the project’s transformation and upgrading, adjustments are being made to the original planning proposal. The Wuzhong Natural Resources Bureau announced that the total area of the project is 629,300 m² (equivalent to 943 mu), and the land is designated for industrial use. The adjusted plan for this project specifies a total construction area of 221,675.9 m2, a permitted building area of 497,391.7 m2, a floor area ratio of 0.82, and a building density of ≥40%, all of which meet the requirements of the planning and design regulations. In June 2019, Wuzhong City facilitated an equity cooperation between Hebei Wu’an Yuhua Steel Co., Ltd. and Tongda Coal Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., leading to the investment in the construction of a modern coal chemical industry park by Tongda Coal Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. in Wuzhong City. The Modern Coal Chemical Industry Park project of Tongda Coal Chemical Co., Ltd., which involves the annual production of 100,000 tons of LNG through the methanation of coke oven gas, is located in the Taishan Industrial Park in Wuzhong City, with a total investment of 1.89 billion yuan. The project mainly involves the construction of an LNG production facility using coke oven gas methanation, 6.25 m rammed coke ovens, cold drum electrostatic precipitators, desulfurization units, ammonium sulfate production plants, benzene extraction systems, as well as various supporting infrastructure and auxiliary facilities for water supply, electricity, gas supply, environmental protection, safety, fire protection, and energy conservation. The Electrical and Instrumentation Company is responsible for all construction and installation works in the coal preparation area, chemical production area, and public utility sections.
