First batch of new-generation methanol-to-olefins catalysts produced by Zhongke Catalysis leaving the factory Author/Source: Huahua Network – Coal Chemical Industry Date: 2019-01-28 Clicks: 2 On the afternoon of January 23, two large freight trucks loaded with the new-generation methanol-to-olefins catalysts slowly left the production area at the Changxing Island Catalysis Industrial Park. With this, the first batch of products manufactured by Zhongke Catalysis New Technology (Dalian) Co., Ltd. was officially released onto the market, marking the completion of the entire process related to equipment calibration and technical procedures for this project. The CSIC Catalysis next-generation methanol-to-olefins catalyst production project, with a total investment of 1.8 billion yuan, is the first project to be established in the Catalysis Industrial Park of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Construction of the project began on August 28, 2017, and it was successfully put into operation on October 28, 2018, completing the construction process in 14 months. After another little over two months of technical debugging, Zhongke Catalysis successfully saw the first batch of products leave the factory. Academician Liu Zhongmin, director of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the Qingdao Institute of Energy and Process Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said in his speech that the new generation of methanol-to-olefins catalysts represents the latest technological achievement of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics and embodies the world’s advanced standards. The delivery of the first batch of catalysts from the new generation developed by Zhongke Catalysis for the methanol-to-olefins process marks the beginning of an upgrade in this technology in China, and it is bound to have a significant impact on the global industry as well. It is reported that at present, Zhongke Catalysis New Technology (Dalian) Co., Ltd. already has the capacity to produce 10,000 tons per year of comprehensive molecular sieve catalysts. This year, the company will commence construction of a second-phase project aimed at producing 1,000 tons per year of fixed-bed catalysts. Once the project is fully operational, its annual output value will exceed 2 billion yuan.
