Date: April 19, 2019. Clicks: 3. On April 17, Haixi Xijin Coal Chemicals Development Co., Ltd. released the information regarding the environmental impact assessment for its new 600,000 tons/year coal-based ethylene glycol production project (with an initial capacity of 200,000 tons/year). The project is located in the Yinmaxia Industrial Zone of the Dachaidan Industrial Park, within the Qaidam (**-level) Circular Economy Pilot Zone. The construction scope mainly includes process production units, utility systems, and auxiliary production facilities. The raw material for the plant is coal, with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of ethylene glycol, 4,730 tons of dimethyl carbonate, 3,000 tons of heavy fractions, 8,400 tons of light fractions, 1,900 tons of fusel oils, and 2,400 tons of sulfur. The first disclosure of information on the environmental impact assessment for the new 600,000 tons per year coal-based ethylene glycol production project (with an initial capacity of 200,000 tons per year) by Haixi Xijin Coal Chemical Development Co., Ltd. I. Basic information such as the name of the construction project, site selection, and scope of construction. Project name: New 600,000 tons per year coal-based ethylene glycol production project (Phase 1: 200,000 tons per year). Location: Yinmaxia Industrial Zone, Dachaidan Industrial Park, Qaidam (**-level) Circular Economy Pilot Zone. Scope of construction: It includes process production facilities, utility systems, and auxiliary production equipment. The raw material for this facility is coal, with an annual processing capacity of 372,000 tons of such coal. The main product is ethylene glycol, while the by-products include dimethyl carbonate, heavy fractions, light fractions, fusel oils, and sulfur. It is estimated that 200,000 tons of ethylene glycol can be produced annually, along with 4,730 tons of dimethyl carbonate, 3,000 tons of heavy fractions, 8,400 tons of light fractions, 1,900 tons of fusel oils, and 2,400 tons of sulfur.
Isn’t the 200,000 tons per year coal-based ethylene glycol production already restricted? They’re still finding various ways to launch projects. Let’s leave a piece of pure land, preserving the blue sky, white clouds, farming, and herding for the local people.
