Project Nature: Renovation Contractor: Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Xinghua Chemical Co., Ltd. Project Overview: By shutting down and demolishing the existing Phase II natural gas-based ammonia synthesis system’s purification, ammonia synthesis, and compression facilities, the project aims to carry out technical upgrades using the excess process gas from the conversion units in order to achieve industrial upgrading. The main areas to be upgraded include the natural gas conversion units, syngas separation units, and storage tanks. Meanwhile, new dimethyl ether synthesis units, carbonylation units, hydrogenation units, and related auxiliary facilities will be constructed on land reserved within the existing factory site. The project will enable annual production of 160,000 tons of methyl acetate or 100,000 tons of ethanol. It should be noted that methyl acetate is an intermediate product in the ethanol production process; although the capacity of the facilities in this project is 100,000 tons per year of ethanol, market conditions may allow the project to sell methyl acetate directly as a final product, without the need to further convert it into ethanol through hydrogenation； The total investment for the project is 741.92 million yuan.
