The SE water-coal (coke) slurry gasification project has successfully achieved full-scale operation. On April 22, with the successful first feeding of the third gasifier unit in Zhenhai Refining & Chemical’s POX plant, this facility that utilizes Sinopec’s own SE water-coal (coke) slurry gasification technology has now achieved full-scale operation. “The “Development of a Complete Set of Technologies for SE Water-Coal (Coke) Slurry Gasification” project is one of Sinopec’s ‘Ten Dragon’ scientific and technological research projects. It was developed jointly by Ningbo Engineering Company, East China University of Science and Technology, and Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd., and was first applied industrially in the POX project at Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd. Since the successful commissioning of Gasifier No. 1 at the beginning of this year, through the scientific organization and diligent efforts of the project team, Gasifiers No. 2 and No. 3 were also successfully commissioned on their first attempt. On April 24, the Technology Department of the group company sent a congratulatory message to mark the successful first trial run of the “SE Water-Coal (Coke) Slurry Gasification Complete Set Technology Development” project.
