Update on the AP Jiu Tai Syngas Project in Inner Mongolia Author/Source: Aerospace Changzheng Chemical Co., Ltd. Date: 2019-06-10 Clicks: 23 At 24:00 on June 4, 2019, the work of constructing the gasification framework as well as pouring concrete for the slag and ash water was completed. With this completion, all the foundational work related to the large-scale frameworks for the AP Jiu Tai Syngas Project has been finished, and construction has now entered the phase of work on the surface areas. Taking into account the climate characteristics of Inner Mongolia, the golden period for civil engineering construction is from March to November. Ensuring safety, quality, and schedule, the AP project team arrived at the site on April 8 to begin work. Earthwork excavation for Coal Grinding Unit II started on April 19, and over a period of 47 days, the foundation works for Coal Grinding Units I & II as well as the frame raft foundation for the gasification unit were completed. In total, 9,648 cubic meters of concrete was poured. The 1 million-ton per year ethylene glycol production project of Inner Mongolia JiuTai New Materials Co., Ltd. is located in the Tuoketuo Industrial Park in Hohhot. With a total investment of 13.3 billion yuan, the project uses aerospace coal gasification and Shell’s gasification technologies, low-temperature methanol washing technology, as well as the world-leading formaldehyde hydroxymethylation technology developed by Davy Company to produce ethylene glycol. Among them, Air Products and Chemicals Inc. of the United States invested 4.8 billion yuan to build the air separation and gasification areas. The project construction period is 3 years, with trials scheduled for 2020 and full operation to begin in 2021. In June 2017, the plan for the project with an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of ethylene glycol was revised; it was changed from \"an annual production of 1.7 million tons of coal-based olefins and related specialty products\" to \"an annual production of 1 million tons of ethylene glycol\".
