Project Overview: The Yulin Chemical Company of Shaanxi Coal Group’s “Demonstration Project on the Utilization of Coal at Different Grades to Produce New Chemical Materials” is currently the largest coal chemical project under construction in the world. The total investment in this project amounts to 126.2 billion yuan, and it enables the conversion of over 24 million tons of coal per year. It primarily produces a variety of products including polyolefins, polyesters, polycarbonates, polystyrene, and acrylates through the systematic integration of a range of advanced processing technologies such as coal pyrolysis and gasification. The currently under construction Phase 1, Stage 1 project for an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol requires an investment of around 26.5 billion yuan.
