Successful ignition of low-temperature furnace drying for Boiler No. 1 in Xinjiang Tianye’s 600,000 tons/year ethylene glycol project – auxiliary systems Author/Source: Donghua Technology Date: July 5, 2019 Clicks: 4 At 12 p.m. on July 2, good news came from the Xinjiang Tianye project team: the low-temperature furnace drying for Boiler No. 1 was successfully completed, marking a transition from construction phase to production preparation, and representing a milestone achievement for the project. More than 30 people attended the furnace heating and ignition ceremony, including Huang Zongqiu, the chief commander in charge of the project preparation at Tianye Huihe Company, Yang Jun, the deputy commander, Zhang Guohuai, the director of Xinjiang Chemical Engineering Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., Meng Chenzhou, the project manager for Tianye’s project in Xinjiang, and the heads of various specialized teams. Since the target dates for completing the low-temperature drying process were set, the company’s leadership has paid close attention and provided strong support; the lighting in the boiler area was put into use, the DCS system was powered on, and the oil tank area was prepared for oil reception... The achievement of each of these sub-targets was acknowledged by the company’s leadership, who also gave instructions regarding safety measures. All members of the project team made relentless efforts, upholding the spirit of \"working three hours, sleeping five, and working sixteen hours.\" They worked closely in partnership with the project owner from Tianye Hui, as well as the furnace heating units and boiler installation teams, collaborating sincerely to repeatedly review the implementation plans and develop safeguard measures. They advanced the work related to furnace heating in a systematic manner, ensuring that progress on the actual construction tasks was made efficiently toward achieving the furnace heating goals. With the strong support of the owner and the joint efforts of all parties involved, the objectives were ultimately achieved as planned. The boiler system of this project includes 4 high-temperature and high-pressure boilers with a capacity of 340 t/h each, as well as 3 steam turbine generators. Boiler No. 1 has been successfully ignited during the low-temperature drying process, and it will now enter a 7-day drying period. Subsequently, the subsystem testing and overall commissioning of Boiler No. 1 will begin. Once Boiler No. 1 is successfully put into operation, it will supply high- and low-pressure steam to the entire plant, thereby creating the necessary conditions for the commissioning and operation of production units such as those used in air separation and ethylene glycol production.
