The main product of Datang Fuxin Coal-to-Natural Gas Company is natural gas alone, resulting in a limited product range. Additionally, it is affected by various unfavorable factors such as the delayed construction of the project, relatively poor coal supply conditions, and **a significant reduction in natural gas prices; as a result, the company will face severe losses once the project comes online. To fundamentally reverse the unfavorable situation of weak profitability of the project’s products and low overall project earnings, the company has decided to build a peak-shaving project utilizing the production facilities from Phase 1. The project uses the purified gas from coal-to-natural gas plants to produce methanol, ethylene glycol, and natural gas products. The production capacity for methanol is 800,000 tons per year, that for ethylene glycol is 400,000 tons per year, and the production capacity for natural gas is 600 million standard cubic meters per year. The utility and auxiliary production facilities rely heavily on the Phase I production units. The construction scope of the peak-shaving project includes process units, storage and transportation systems, supporting utility facilities, and auxiliary production equipment. It operates continuously with 8,000 hours of annual operation time, and the estimated total investment is 3,080.16 million yuan, of which 400 million yuan is allocated to the methanol production unit.
