Lifting of the secondary compressor for the LDPE unit at Yulin Energy Chemicals – Author/Source: Shaanxi Chemical Construction; Date: 2019-07-25; Clicks: 10. On July 23, the lifting of the secondary compressor for the LDPE unit as part of the first-phase completion project at Yulin Energy Chemicals was successfully completed. The secondary compressor is the core equipment of the LDPE plant, and it is lifted in two stages: first the crankcase, and then the stator-rotor assembly. The crankcase weighs 140 tons, while the stator-rotor assembly weighs 152 tons. The secondary compression unit is imported Swiss equipment, and the foreign after-sales service personnel require that the levelness of the crankcase during lifting be kept within 5 millimeters, making the lifting process quite challenging. Through preliminary precise calculations and careful preparation by the on-site operators, the lifting company managed to meet the technical requirements from the first attempt. The successful completion of the lifting of the secondary compressor marks a phased success in the installation work of the LDPE unit as part of the first-phase completion project at Yulin Energy Chemicals. The completion project for the first phase of Yulin Energy Chemical Complex is a key initiative aimed at implementing the requirements set by the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government to \"enhance the demonstration effect of the comprehensive utilization projects for coal, oil, and gas resources in Jingbian,\" as well as the goals of Yan’an Petroleum Group to \"change its business model and adjust its structure.\" With an investment of 14.413 billion yuan, this project will use coal and natural gas as raw materials to build integrated facilities capable of producing 1.8 million tons per year of methanol, 600,000 tons per year of methanol-to-olefins products, 400,000 tons per year of polypropylene, and 300,000 tons per year of low-density polyethylene/Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate copolymer (LDPE/EVA). The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2020, at which time Yueneng Chemical’s polyolefin production capacity will increase to 1.8 million tons per year.
