The DMO reactor for Shaanxi Coal Yulin Chemical’s 1.8 million tons/year ethylene glycol project arrived. Author/Source: Modern Coal Chemical Engineering. Date: July 26, 2020. Clicks: 60. On July 23, the sun in the Maowusu Desert was scorching hot. At the site of the DMO unit for Shaanxi Coal Group’s Yulin Chemical 1.8 million tons per year ethylene glycol project, which is under the general contracting of Donghua Technology, two key pieces of equipment, the DMO reactors, were carefully placed in their designated positions. The DMO reactors are among the large-scale lifting equipment used in this facility; each one weighs around 260 tons. Two of the 18 DMO reactors are present here today. The timely arrival of these devices indicates that the period when all the project’s equipment will arrive is approaching, and it represents an important milestone as the work on site shifts from civil construction to the installation phase. Within the scope of Donghua Technology’s general contracting work, a total of 111 large-scale pieces of equipment were lifted, with a combined weight of approximately 21,888 tons. Donghua Technology’s project team is working closely with the owner’s relevant departments, the owner’s project team, the companies responsible for lifting the heavy equipment, and the installation subcontractors to carefully plan and closely monitor the subsequent steps, ensuring that all tasks are carried out in an orderly manner. It is reported that for the 1.8 million tons per year ethylene glycol project of Yulin Chemical under Shaanxi Coal Group, the planning related to oversized equipment as well as the manufacturing, transportation, and lifting of such equipment are carried out in a unified manner by the project owner, with various contractors working together in phases to carry out these tasks. The on-time arrival rate of equipment, the on-time completion rate of outfitting, and the on-time installation rate through lifting are extremely crucial for achieving the “21630” goal.
