Jinmei Group boasts a strong capacity in the coal chemical industry and has a large production capacity for methanol; it possesses the necessary conditions for the industrialization of methanol fuel. Developing methanol fuel will play a positive role in helping the company to transform and upgrade itself. It is hoped that Jincheng Coal Group will leverage its strengths to develop the methanol fuel industry, foster new drivers of growth, and promote the green, circular, and low-carbon development of the enterprise. The expert group for the methanol vehicle pilot project under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will work together with enterprises to promote the development of the methanol fuel industry, thereby contributing to the growth of China’s energy economy. Li Hongshuang, Party Secretary and Chairman of Jinmei Group, said that in recent years, leveraging its advantages in high-quality anthracite resources, Jinmei Group has vigorously developed the coal chemical industry; the scale of its basic chemical products is among the highest in China, making it the largest coal chemical enterprise group in the country. Currently, affected by factors such as the development of modern coal gasification technologies and a decline in the volume of basic chemical products, the coal chemical industry of Jinmei Group urgently needs to accelerate its transformation and upgrading. Developing the methanol fuel industry is an effective way for enterprises to achieve clean and efficient use of coal, and it will facilitate their reform, transformation, and high-quality development. Relevant departments and units should strengthen communication with the expert group for methanol fuel pilot projects under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, conduct in-depth research on methanol fuel based on the actual conditions of enterprises, and explore development paths for the methanol fuel industry. We hope the expert group will provide guidance and support to promote the transformation and development of enterprises, so as to jointly contribute to China’s energy revolution. The participants listened to updates on the development of the coal chemical industry by Jinmei Group and on the production of methanol fuel vehicles by Geely Group, and engaged in in-depth discussions regarding methanol fuel and the development of the methanol economy.
