The Western Hydrogen Capital Experimental Base is established! Author/Source: Gasification World Date: 2021-08-13 Clicks: 18 On August 12, the launching ceremony for the construction of the Western Hydrogen Capital Experimental Base project, carried out by Shaanxi Yuqing Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Xi’an Hanhai Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd. in collaboration with the Northwest Branch of China State Construction Engineering Group, was held in the Qinchuangyuan Pilot Zone of Xixian New Area. This will be the first comprehensive laboratory in the country dedicated to research on organic liquid hydrogen storage and hydrogen energy storage; it will become a leading green ecological research base for hydrogen energy development and utilization in China, and the first of its kind in the western region. Guo Tingbo, deputy director of the New Energy Division at the Development and Reform Commission of Shaanxi Province, said that as a major energy province, Shaanxi has identified hydrogen energy as one of the 23 industrial chains it will prioritize in its efforts to accelerate the development of the hydrogen energy industry. Currently, a development plan for the hydrogen energy industry is being formulated; supportive policies, measures, and action plans will be introduced. It is hoped that companies such as Yuqi Hydrogen Energy and Hanhai Hydrogen Energy will take the construction of the Western Hydrogen Capital Experimental Base as an opportunity to keep a close eye on the global trends in the hydrogen energy industry as well as relevant policy developments. By focusing on innovative approaches and business models in this sector, they can bring together various resources to promote the development of the hydrogen energy industry in our province, thereby contributing to the achievement of the \"dual carbon\" goals. Xi Jun, founder of Western Hydrogen Capital and chairman of Shaanxi Yuqing Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., said in his speech that as one of the first high-tech enterprises in China to engage in the research, development, and application of core hydrogen energy technologies, the company focuses on advancing research in these core technologies. Leveraging its strong technical foundation and comprehensive capabilities, it has dedicated itself to overcoming the key technical challenges in the hydrogen energy sector. It has developed a series of organic liquid hydrogen storage and release technologies with independent intellectual property rights, thereby occupying a leading position in the hydrogen energy industry and continuously narrowing the gap with international advanced technology levels. Xi Jun said that the Western Hydrogen Capital Experimental Base will leverage Shaanxi Province’s \"Qin Chuangyuan\" platform to promote joint technical research and development in the hydrogen energy industry on a global scale, focus on breaking through key common technologies in this sector, and facilitate the transformation of hydrogen energy-related scientific and technological achievements as well as the integration of various elements within the industry chain. This marks the official launch of another national engineering technology research center for hydrogen energy storage, as well as the first green, distributed, and independent power supply demonstration project based on hydrogen energy in the western region. According to reports, the experimental base project covers an area of 3,200 square meters, with a total investment of 110 million yuan. It includes laboratories, exhibition halls, and other facilities. The base will be primarily engaged in research and development, testing, and commercialization of technologies related to efficient hydrogen production and storage, as well as science popularization efforts. It is expected to be completed and put into operation in November this year.
