Fujian’s 300,000-ton caprolactam project (Phase II) enters a new stage; completion is expected by the end of December. Author/Source: Gasification World. Date: 2022-04-11. Clicks: 2. On the morning of April 6, the pipe-mounted fluidized bed unit for the ammonium sulfate production in Phase II of Yongrong Technology’s CPL project was successfully lifted and installed, marking the entry of this unit into a new phase of equipment installation. The drying process of the ammonium sulfate unit in the caprolactam section of Yongrong Technology’s CPL Phase II project is a crucial step in producing finished anhydrous sulfuric acid, and the buried tube fluidized bed is the key equipment used in this process. Ammonium sulfate crystals containing 2% moisture are fluidized and boiled in a drying bed before being cooled, ultimately yielding product ammonium sulfate with 0.1% moisture content. The second-phase construction of Yongrong Technology’s caprolactam plant has a capacity of 400,000 tons per year, with a total investment of 8 billion yuan. It primarily involves the construction of four main production units for hydrogen production and ammonia synthesis, **, ammonoxime formation, and caprolactam production, as well as three supporting units for sulfuric acid production, hydrogen peroxide production, and cogeneration. The project utilizes the industry’s advanced fourth-generation hydration method and ammonoximation technology. With the gradual arrival of more important large-scale equipment such as centrifuges, stripping towers, and compressors, as well as the lifting and installation of the fluidized bed in the ammonium sulfate plant, it marks that the caprolactam section of Yongrong Technology’s CPL Phase II project has fully entered the intensive equipment installation phase, laying a solid foundation for completing the construction by the end of December 2022. Project Overview: The main production facilities of the second phase of Fujian Yongrong Technology’s caprolactam project include two 200,000-ton/year olefin-based ** units and two 200,000-ton/year caprolactam production units ; The supporting production facilities include a combined plant for coal-to-hydrogen production with a capacity of 40,000 m3/h and coal-to-ammonia production with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons, two hydrogen peroxide plants with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons (35%), and one sulfuric acid plant with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons. The caprolactam project of Fujian Yongrong Technology Co., Ltd. has a total investment of 14.876 billion yuan and is divided into two phases. The first phase, involving a production capacity of 200,000 tons per year of caprolactam, was brought online by the end of 2017; after technical upgrades, the production capacity was increased to 280,000 tons per year. The second phase, with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year of caprolactam, requires an investment of 8 billion yuan. The project mainly produces caprolactam and by-products such as sulfuric acid. Caprolactam is an important raw material for producing engineering plastics, synthetic fibers, insulating materials, and other products. Fujian Yongrong Group is an outstanding domestic provider of new nylon materials. The company’s main product is caprolactam, which is primarily used in the fiber, engineering plastics, and food packaging film industries; it is also widely applied in fields such as aerospace, automotive manufacturing, medical products, daily necessities, and electronic components. The group has now established an integrated full industrial chain, aiming to become a new type of company that combines petrochemical engineering design, construction projects, and project management. Once the project is completed and put into operation, it will increase the company’s caprolactam production capacity, promote the development of the company’s entire industrial chain, and contribute to the growth of the new materials industry in the local area.
