The two gasifiers in Yanchuan Energy Chemical’s facility operated at full capacity for the first time – Author/Source: Coal Chemistry News, Date: 2019-08-30, Clicks: 65. At 16:15 on August 27th, good news came from the gasification and purification unit at Yanchuan Energy Chemical’s facility: the two gasifiers operated at full capacity for the first time since their trial operation. The coal feed rate for each gasifier reached 79 cubic meters; it was the first time that both gasifiers met the design specifications simultaneously, which is of great significance for determining the optimal operating conditions of the facility. The gasification unit operates in a \"two in use and one standby\" mode; due to production requirements, the operating load remains at around 80% for extended periods, preventing a comprehensive evaluation of the unit’s overall production performance. In this joint experiment, under the overall coordination of the Production Planning Department, the gasification and purification unit as well as the natural gas conversion and synthesis unit worked in close cooperation. The key technical personnel worked round the clock to carefully adjust the hydrogen-to-carbon ratio of the syngas and strictly control the parameters of the shift converter. The load of both gasification units was steadily increased to 100% without any abnormalities occurring. This performance test is not only a check of the performance of the gasification and downstream units, as well as auxiliary and air separation systems, but it also holds great significance for identifying the optimal operating conditions for these units, thereby helping the company to improve its quality and efficiency. The gasification unit of this project operates on a \"two in service and one standby\" mode. In this joint experiment, under the overall coordination of the Production Planning Department, the gasification and purification unit as well as the natural gas conversion and synthesis unit worked in close cooperation. The key technical personnel worked day and night to carefully adjust the hydrogen-to-carbon ratio of the syngas and strictly control the parameters of the shift converter. The load of both gasification units was steadily increased to 100% without any abnormalities occurring. The gasification unit employs the multi-feed slurry pressurized gasification technology developed by the Northwest Research Institute of Chemical Engineering; the gasification pressure is 6.5 MPa. This process features a high carbon conversion rate, with the effective gas components accounting for over 80%. Yan’an Energy and Chemical Co., Ltd. of Yan’an Petroleum, established in September 2009, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shaanxi Yan’an Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd. It is primarily responsible for the construction of projects aimed at the comprehensive utilization of coal, oil, and gas resources in Yan’an, as well as their operation and management once such projects are completed. The Yan’an coal, oil, and gas resources comprehensive utilization project is the largest energy and chemical project invested in by Yanchang Petroleum Group in Yan’an. With a total investment of around 24 billion yuan, the project consists of 10 production units along with the corresponding utility systems and auxiliary facilities. The project is located in the Luo River valley in the southern part of Fuxian County, Shaanxi Province. It uses associated gas from Yanchang Petroleum’s oil fields, refinery light oil, and coal as raw materials to build 10 sets of processing units, including ones for producing 1.8 million tons per year of methanol, 600,000 tons per year of methanol derivatives, 400,000 tons per year of light oil products, 450,000 tons per year of polyethylene, 250,000 tons per year of polypropylene, 200,000 tons per year of butanol, 80,000 tons per year of dipropyl heptanol, and 50,000 tons per year of EPDM rubber, along with supporting auxiliary facilities and off-site infrastructure.
