The desalination unit of the Xinjiang Tianye project has begun to produce water successfully. Author/Source: Donghua Technology. Date: 2019-08-05. Clicks: 32. On August 2, the primary reverse osmosis unit in the desalination section of Xinjiang Tianye’s first-phase 600,000-ton/year ethylene glycol production project started producing water successfully, generating softened water that meets the requirements for boiler pickling. At present, the desalination section is producing water steadily, laying a solid foundation for the commissioning of other units in the project. The main process of this desalination system involves using processes such as multi-media filtration, ultrafiltration, primary reverse osmosis, secondary reverse osmosis, and mixed-bed filtration to treat raw water into qualified desalinated water that meets the standards for boiler feedwater. At the current stage, the water produced by the primary reverse osmosis unit is sufficient to meet the requirements for flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning of downstream equipment. Based on the project’s startup schedule, it is expected that the entire water treatment process at the desalinated water station will be operational by August 10th. The raw water treatment capacity of this desalination plant is 4X120 tons per hour, resulting in an annual water production volume of 3.84 million tons. To ensure the achievement of the target of producing qualified softened water by early August, the leaders of all parties involved in the project made coordinated arrangements. During the critical phases of project construction and commissioning, they coordinated professionals from areas such as design, procurement, construction, and electrical instrumentation, ensuring meticulous control at every stage, from plan formulation and process management to goal attainment. The project team developed a thorough operating plan to ensure that the entire process proceeded in an orderly manner; this allowed the entire sequence from equipment cleaning to the production of qualified softened water to be completed in a short time, thereby providing adequate water supply for the operation of other equipment in the project. The first phase of Xinjiang Tianye’s 600,000 tons per year ethylene glycol production project has now entered its final stages of completion. According to the plan, tasks such as pipeline purging and pressure testing for the boiler equipment, individual unit tests, and boiler pickling will be carried out in the near future. All project personnel on site cooperated actively, striving to overcome the various difficulties arising from complex overlapping tasks. They worked closely with the client and the contractors to carry out timely and accurate final preparations at the site, ensuring that all project objectives were achieved as planned.
There are so many ethylene glycol projects; the companies that are currently in operation are not failing, but they also aren’t thriving. One project after another will be launched subsequently, until eventually the entire industry will be ruined.
