In accordance with the relevant regulations regarding the approval process for environmental impact assessments of construction projects, the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Ningdong Base Management Committee accepted the environmental impact assessment documents for this project on August 21, 2019. Scale of the project: An ethylene glycol production facility with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons, a hydrogen production facility with a capacity of 52,000 m³/h, and a polyol production facility with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons. Land area: The total land area of the project is 4,209 hm2. Total plant workforce: 530 people. Total project investment: The total investment for this project is 4.33162 billion yuan, of which 4.062 billion yuan is allocated to construction costs. Environmental impact assessment agency: Chongqing Darun Environmental Science Research Institute Co., Ltd. It is reported that Ningxia Kunpeng Clean Energy Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ningxia Baoli New Energy Co., Ltd. Its project for producing 400,000 tons of coal-based ethylene glycol per year requires an investment of 4.3 billion yuan; it utilizes the patented technologies and production processes developed by Danhua Tongliao Jinmei, and was designed by China Tianchen Engineering Company, with construction carried out by China National Chemical Corporation’s Sixth Construction Engineering Company and its Sixteenth Construction Engineering Company. The main facilities to be constructed include gasification units, air separation units, low-temperature methanol washing units, purification and refrigeration units, shift and heat recovery units, synthesis units, refining units, and utility systems. The project is scheduled to be completed in September 2021.
