Meeting Held to Advance the Construction of Sinopec’s 600,000-ton/year Polyolefin Project in Zijin, Guizhou Author/Source: Coal Chemical Industry 114 Forum Date: 2019-10-21 Clicks: 4 On October 16, a meeting was held in the conference room of Sinopec Great Wall Energy Chemical (Guizhou) Co., Ltd. to advance the construction of Sinopec’s 600,000-ton/year polyolefin project in Zijin, Guizhou. Sinopec Zijin 600,000-ton coal-to-olefins project is a large-scale energy and chemical project aimed at the clean and efficient utilization of coal resources, jointly developed by Sinopec and the Guizhou Province. It is located in Chadian Township, Zijin County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, covering an area of approximately 4,515 mu. The project includes the construction and operation of four large-scale chemical units capable of producing 1.8 million tons per year of coal-to-methanol, 1.8 million tons per year of methanol-to-olefins, 350,000 tons per year of polypropylene, and 300,000 tons per year of polyethylene, in addition to supporting facilities such as two 350MW thermal power plants. The project received approval from the Ministry of Environmental Protection for environmental impact assessment in February 2017. It was approved for construction by the authorities in Guizhou Province on July 13, 2018, and the project’s feasibility study report was officially approved by Sinopec Corporation on November 18. CCCC is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022 and put into commercial operation in 2023. Sinopec Great Wall Energy Chemical (Guizhou) Co., Ltd. was established on June 21, 2013, in Zhijin County, Guizhou Province; it is a holding subsidiary of Sinopec Great Wall Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. Among them, Sinopec Great Wall Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. holds a 99% stake, while Guizhou Shuicheng Mining Co., Ltd. and Bijie Zhijin New Area Biyun Construction Investment and Development Co., Ltd. each hold a 0.5% stake.
