400 million yuan invested in Ningxia Coal’s first project to extend the coal-to-oil value chain; Approval granted. Author/Source: Huahua Network – Coal Chemicals. Date: February 18, 2021. Clicks: 11. Recently, Ningxia Coal’s 200,000 tons per year FTO wax project was approved by the Investment Committee of State Energy Group, marking the imminent implementation of Ningxia Coal’s first project aimed at expanding its coal-to-oil chemical industry chain. The Advisory Committee of Investment Experts from Guoneng Group unanimously agreed that this project is beneficial for extending the industrial chain of coal-to-oil projects, increasing the added value of products, and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises; therefore, the construction of this project is necessary and feasible. Ningxia Coal Industry’s 200,000 tons per year FTO wax project was approved unanimously by the Investment Committee of State Energy Group. This project will also serve as the first joint venture in the coal chemical sector for Ningxia Coal Industry Company, providing a basis for the further development of the coal-to-chemicals industry and for the ongoing deepening of cooperation through joint ventures. Ningxia Coal Industry’s 200,000 tons per year FTO wax production project received approval for initiation in May 2019. Using the FTO heavy wax and FTO refined wax produced by its 4 million tons per year coal indirect liquefaction project as raw materials, this project employs continuous high-vacuum molecular distillation technology to carry out precise separation in order to obtain FTO waxes with different melting points. The design of this project involves using 50,000 tons per year of FTO heavy wax and 150,000 tons per year of FTO refined wax from coal-to-oil projects as raw materials, to produce 200,000 tons per year of products such as 33# wax, 45# wax, 60# wax, 70# wax, and 105# wax. The project covers an area of approximately 150 mu. The total estimated investment for the project is 393 million yuan. The construction includes a molecular distillation unit, a granulation unit, a heat transfer oil system, as well as supporting facilities such as raw material storage areas, product storage areas, product warehouses, a power distribution system, a circulating water facility, and a hot water station. Wastewater treatment, desalinated water for natural gas (fuel gas), steam, nitrogen, instrument air, plant air, etc., rely on the existing utility facilities of the 4 million tons per year coal indirect liquefaction project.
