On October 23, Shaanxi Coal Group assembled environmental protection experts from units such as the Provincial Environmental Testing Center, Xi’an Zhongdi Environmental Technology Company, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and WeiHua Group to conduct an on-site environmental protection inspection upon completion of Dongxinyuan Company’s lignite and coal tar hydrogenation project. Leaders and technical personnel such as Shi Shanglong, manager of the Environmental Protection Inspection Department of Shaanxi Coal Chemical Group; Cai Yuan, chief engineer of Shenmu Coal Chemical Industry; Li Yajun, deputy general manager of Dongxinyuan Company; and Zhou Fanggao from Shaanxi Zhongjian Testing Technology Co., Ltd., attended the meeting for the completion inspection of environmental protection facilities. Through three years of coordinated operation, Dongxinyuan Company’s semi-coke and coal tar hydrogenation project has achieved safe handling and systematic treatment of wastewater and waste gases. Wastewater is managed in accordance with the principles of separating rainwater from sewage, separating clean water from polluted water, and utilizing water based on its quality. Domestic sewage is sent to the SBR tanks at the main wastewater treatment plant for biological treatment, after which it is reused entirely. The production wastewater is fully recycled within the production system using proprietary patented technologies. The waste gas treatment measures for various stages of the project meet the requirements specified in the environmental impact assessment report and the approval decisions related to it, and are in line with the design parameters set out in that report. Following the acceptance monitoring and on-site investigations, the acceptance team concluded that Dongxinyuan Company has implemented all the pollution control measures required by the environmental impact assessment and the approvals issued thereunder, ensuring that all pollutants are discharged within specified limits. The project meets the acceptance criteria, and the acceptance team agrees that the environmental protection facilities for waste gas and wastewater constructed as part of this project pass the acceptance test. Relevant officials from Dongxinyuan Company stated that they will continue to attach great importance to environmental protection issues, adhere to the green development concept that emphasizes both ecology and development, earnestly assume their responsibilities as a company in terms of environmental protection, operate in accordance with the law, and achieve a win-win situation where environmental protection and economic benefits go hand in hand.
