Successful First Installation of the Hydrogen-Enhanced Demulsification Reactor at Shenmu Fuyou Energy Technology Company Author/Source: Coal Tar Deep Processing and Hydrogenation Technology Collaboration Group Date: 11-13-2019 Clicks: 54 On November 7, the hydrogen-enhanced demulsification reactor, a key piece of equipment for Shenmu Fuyou Energy Technology Company’s project aimed at producing naphthenic oils through the hydroprocessing of 500,000 tons per year of coal tar distillates, was successfully installed for the first time. This marks a significant achievement in the structural construction and equipment installation phases of the company’s second-phase project. It is reported that the hydrogen-cooled condensation reactor being lifted this time is one of the core equipment in the project’s production facility. With a diameter of 3.34 meters, a height of 36.1 meters, and a weight of 436 tons, it is the heaviest, tallest, and largest among the 9 reactors in this project. The 500,000 tons per year project for the hydrogenation of the full fraction of coal tar to produce naphthenic oils is developed by Shenmu Fuyou. It uses coal tar as raw material and employs an in-house developed technology for the hydrogenation of the full fraction of coal tar to produce naphthenic oils, thereby yielding high-value-added oil products. This project has been included in the Industrialization Demonstration Projects listed by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration under the \"Energy Technology Revolution Innovation Action Plan (2016–2030)\", as well as in the demonstration projects outlined in the National Energy Administration’s \"13th Five-Year Plan for the Deep Processing of Coal Industry\". The project is located in the Jinjie Industrial Park in Shenmu City, Shaanxi Province, with a total investment of 2.511 billion yuan. It mainly includes a 500,000-ton/year hydroprocessing unit for coal tar fractions, a 510,000-ton/year hydroprocessing unit for naphthenic oils, a 250,000-ton/year separation unit for naphthenic oils, a hydrogen production plant with a capacity of 75,000 cubic meters per hour, an acidic water stripping unit with a capacity of 40 tons per hour, a sulfur recovery unit with a capacity of 5,000 tons per year, a solvent regeneration unit with a capacity of 10 tons per hour, as well as various supporting utility systems.
