Construction begins on Hami Guanghui Environmental Protection Technology’s project for the comprehensive utilization of waste gas to produce 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year / Author/Source: Sinochem Fourth Construction Company; Date: November 20, 2019; Clicks: 44. On November 19, construction started on the project undertaken by Sinochem Fourth Construction Company, aimed at utilizing waste gas to produce 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year at Hami Guanghui Environmental Protection Technology. The project is located in the Naomaohu Industrial Park in Yiwu County, Hami City, Xinjiang, and is under the EPC general contracting of China Wuhuan. Using waste gas as raw material, this project employs the third-generation \"WHB syngas to produce polyester-grade ethylene glycol\" technology to manufacture high-end chemical products – polyester-grade ethylene glycol. It is the first project in China to utilize waste gas for the production of ethylene glycol, and it represents a pioneering effort in the comprehensive utilization of waste gas resources. It is reported that, compared with coal-based ethylene glycol production methods, using waste gas can reduce the investment required for project construction by over 30%, significantly lower the production costs of ethylene glycol, improve the overall profitability of the project, and at the same time help solve the problem of recycling waste gas resources. Sihua Jiancheng is responsible for the construction and installation work of 3 units in the project: the circulating water plant, the finished product tank area, and the flare stack. Given the challenges associated with project construction, such as its complexity and short construction period, Sihua Jian aims to create high-quality and model projects by conducting thorough planning, meticulous organization, and careful execution, in order to ensure that the projects are completed safely, to a high standard, and efficiently.
