At 23:47 on August 4th, the urea products from the trial operation of the Shandong Jinmei Mingshengda 40.60 project were successfully produced, marking the successful commissioning of this project and its entry into operational status. The Jinmei Mingshengda 40.60 project is located in the Ningyang Biochemical High-Tech Industrial Park in Tai’an City, Shandong Province, with a total investment of over 10 billion yuan. GE coal water slurry gasification, wide-temperature sulfur-tolerant shift reaction, low-temperature methanol washing for desulfurization and decarburization, low-pressure ammonia synthesis at 15 MPa, and carbon dioxide stripping for urea production are employed. An annual production capacity of 400,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, 600,000 tons of urea, 72 million cubic meters per year of hydrogen, 57.6 million cubic meters per year of liquid oxygen, 2.88 million cubic meters per year of liquid nitrogen, 15.84 million cubic meters per year of liquid argon, 7.2 million cubic meters per year of carbon monoxide, and 4,644 tons per year of sulfur. This project is an important initiative for Shandong Jinmei Mingshengda Co., Ltd. to move out of the urban area and into industrial parks, as well as for its industrial upgrading. Among them, the gasification unit is the main supporting facility of this project, with the core unit utilizing GE’s new gasification technology to produce syngas. The successful commissioning of this trial operation means that the gas chemical production unit will be able to produce 150 million cubic meters of hydrogen, 50 million cubic meters of carbon monoxide, 30 million cubic meters of nitrogen, and 100,000 tons of liquid ammonia per year. This will provide sufficient and stable raw materials such as hydrogen, steam, liquid ammonia, carbon monoxide, and inert gases for the development of a circular economy as well as the expansion of industrial chains in the Ningyang Economic Development Zone in Shandong Province.
