The signing ceremony for the procurement contracts for the compression units and oversized equipment for Yulin Chemical’s 1.8 million tons per year ethylene glycol production project was successfully held. Company leaders and representatives from 7 equipment manufacturers, including Shaanxi Blower (Group) Co., Ltd. and Xi’an Nuclear Equipment Co., Ltd., attended the ceremony. Song Shijie*, the Party Secretary and Executive Director of the company, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. He stated that upholding integrity and mutual trust, as well as adhering to the spirit of contracts, are prerequisites for long-term cooperation. The signing of this cooperation agreement marks the beginning of successful collaboration between the two parties, as well as the onset of their shared responsibilities. In this partnership, Yulin Chemical will adhere to the principle of integrity, enhance communication between the two parties, work together to ensure product quality control, maintain excellent equipment performance and reliable plant operations, and jointly create a benchmark for world-class modern coal chemical projects. It is reported that the Yulin Chemical Coal Quality-Based Utilization for the Production of New Chemical Materials demonstration project is a large-scale comprehensive coal utilization project that makes full use of the characteristics of Yulin’s coal, oil, and natural gas resources. It integrates coal chemical and petrochemical production processes, and is planned and constructed in line with the principles of park-based development, high-end standards, precision, and intelligence. The project will be constructed in two phases and four stages, comprising a total of 27 process units along with associated utility systems. These mainly include the medium- and low-temperature pyrolysis of 15 million tons of coal, the production of 5.6 million tons of methanol, 1.8 million tons of ethylene glycol, 2 million tons of MTO, as well as downstream products derived from these intermediates. The first phase of the project is scheduled to be put into operation in June 2021, with the entire project to be completed and operational by the end of 2025.
