On June 10, the construction of the installation work in the southern area of the methanol plant for the completion and improvement projects of the first phase of Shaanxi Yanchang China Coal Yulin Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. (Yanchang Jingbian Phase II project) officially commenced. At the construction site of the opening ceremony for the installation work in the southern area of the methanol plant as part of the Yulin Energy Chemicals project, the first frame steel structure was successfully lifted into place. With this, the construction of the southern area of the methanol plant (including the gasification unit and the purification unit) has shifted from civil engineering works to installation tasks. It is understood that the installation of steel structures is an important link between the civil engineering work and the installation tasks. The southern area of the methanol plant contains a total of 4,219 tons of steel structures. To ensure the smooth installation of equipment and pipelines, the management team at the methanol plant has worked together with Beijing Engineering Company, the supervision unit, China State Construction Sixth Engineering Bureau, China National Nuclear Corporation 23rd Engineering Bureau, and other parties to develop installation plans, thereby providing solid support for the installation efforts that are set to begin in September. As of June 11, the foundations for the pipelines in the gasification to purification unit area have all been completed. The foundations and frame structures for the low-temperature methanol washing towers have also been finished. The main construction of the substation and cabinet rooms is complete, the fourth-floor foundations for the gasification framework have been poured, and construction on the foundations for the equipment installed on the ground has begun in full swing. On June 8, after 17 hours of work, the concrete pouring for the three-story main structure of the extrusion granulation plant for the 400,000 tons per year polypropylene production unit in the first phase of the Yulin Petrochemical Project, which was under EPC general contracting by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., was completed, allowing the structure to be capped successfully. This was achieved 3 days ahead of the planned schedule, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent installation of the extruders. The total height of the extrusion granulation plant is 34.6 meters, with three floors in total. The scaffolding required amounts to 28,000 cubic meters, the amount of steel bars used for binding is 275 tons, and the volume of concrete poured is 2,488 cubic meters. At present, the full-scale scaffolding on the first floor of the extrusion granulation plant has been removed, and work on the auxiliary equipment for the extruder as well as building decoration is being carried out in stages. It is expected that the related civil engineering works will be completed by mid-July, so as to ensure the smooth installation of the extruder once it arrives. The air separation unit has fully entered the installation phase. On the afternoon of May 31, the construction site of the air separation unit for Yueneng Chemical’s filling and completion project witnessed an \"important moment\". After more than two hours of intense work, the 24.8-meter-tall and 75-ton heavy No. 3 air separation distillation lower column was lifted into place. Once this task at this stage is completed, the air separation unit signals the start of installation, and the entire system enters the installation phase. As of the time of writing, the purifier and water cooling tower of Unit 3 air separation plant have been installed ； The installation of the steel structure for the cold box in the air separation unit, the installation of the V50 liquid nitrogen storage tank, the construction of the compressor foundations and plant framework, as well as the work on the substation, cabinet rooms, and air coolers, has all been fully underway. The civil construction and equipment installation work for air separation units have sparked a new wave of intense activity. The completion and improvement project for the first phase of Yulin Energy Chemical Complex is a key initiative aimed at implementing the requirements set by the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government to \"enhance the demonstration effect of the comprehensive utilization projects for coal, oil, and gas resources in Jingbian,\" as well as the goals of Yan’an Petroleum Group regarding \"changing development models and adjusting the industrial structure.\" With an investment of 14.413 billion yuan, this project will use coal and natural gas as raw materials to build integrated facilities capable of producing 1.8 million tons per year of methanol, 600,000 tons per year of methanol-derived olefins, 400,000 tons per year of polypropylene, and 300,000 tons per year of low-density polyethylene/Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate copolymer (LDPE/EVA). The project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2020; by then, Yueneng Chemical’s polyolefin production capacity will increase to 1.8 million tons per year. This is expected to boost annual sales revenue by 7.338 billion yuan and profits and taxes by 2.1 billion yuan.
