On April 3, Hualu Technology and Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Company signed EPCO turnkey contracts for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, a recycled water station, and advanced wastewater treatment facilities as part of a demonstration project aimed at utilizing coal in various ways to produce new chemical materials; they also signed EPC contracts for the construction of syngas purification units and air separation units. The total value of these contracts was 3.684 billion yuan. Yulin Chemical’s “Demonstration Project for the Production of New Chemical Materials through the Differential Utilization of Coal” is a large-scale coal conversion project that is a key focus of development by Shaanxi Coal Group. Covering an area of 9.87 square kilometers, it is located in the Qingshui Industrial Park in Yulin City. It processes 20.14 million tons of raw coal per year, and through the systematic integration of a range of advanced processing technologies such as coal pyrolysis and gasification, it produces 5.9 million tons per year of various products including polyolefins, polyesters, polycarbonates, polystyrene, and acrylates. The total investment for the project is 102.2 billion yuan, of which the first phase of the project involves the production of 1.8 million tons per year of ethylene glycol from coal.
